The only British lagers (IIRC) are Skol, Carling & Hoftmiester (now discontinued). Round here there are quite a few on beer, Wadworth's 6X or IPA.
I avoid all such beverages and stick with the dark grape.
I find lager more refreshing than bitter or ale. That said, I would say that I do not enjoy British lagers like Carling at all. I much prefer the stuff of the Continent, especially San Miguel, Amstel, or Grolsch.
