I wonder if there's not a proper Moderation Control Panel (ala phpBB) any more, and perhaps the mods have to do some stuff a bit manually? I dunno - a possible reason for their reluctance. The mods get a hard time over at the site, but I do wonder why there aren't more of them who can more actively moderate. And it's not like there is a page listing 'the moderating team', and if there is it's not too easy to find it.
On a positive note I really liked today's special homepage - allowing you to see how many unread posts there are on today's main topic was really well done and I hope we'll see more of that in the future, such as Eurovision.

It's not new members as such no, it's a distinct subset of members who obsess over the tedious issues of rotas and then insist on forcing their nonsense into every other thread possible and taking it to extremes.
