Its not bad. Just recorded someone on a bike cycling by my window, with seagulls soaring above. Plays back pretty smoothly indeed. An improved codec?
Also a microphone button appears in the text message window next to the keypad, and it did voice to text perfectly. Even to the point of adding the "exclamation mark" I asked for. Can see that being super handy.
Passed it to Justin, my flatmate, who announced "hot bum love", which the phone didn't recognise.
I however did, and took it to be an instruction.

I am rather jealous of you with your Android devices in the case of Google Listen. I would love to see a release on the Blackberry even though it doesn't seem likely at the moment. And Blackberry podcasts is only available in the US and Canada, so my search for podcast apps continues.
Incidentally, when does Google Goggles come out? What's it like if it's already out?

I tried the beta a couple of months ago by taking a picture of a pine table.
It gave me a picture of a beach.
I tried a very clear picture of a magnifying glass on a pine table.
It gave me a picture of a different beach.

I took a picture of a Sky remote, and indeed it did give me links to places where I could buy Sky remotes. However I haven't used it for any real purpose.

I used it in Toys R Us a few weeks ago to see if there deal on something really was as good as they made out. Turns out it was.
It's quite handy as you can either scan the barcode or just the front of the box. I imagine it'd be good in designer outlet places, where they try to trick you into thinking it's a good deal because your in a designer outlet.

If you take a photo of some text in a foreign language using Goggles, it will go away and translate it for you (as well as it can in Google Translate). That's kinda cool.

I've found a trial for Podtrapper on the BlackBerry, which appears to have the same features as Google Listen.
