Yes, yes, we get it. You're young.
But look at us: we get to have money to spend and we don't have to worry about exams.

Now, now, we don't want to encourage the child.

No pressure.

Anyone?
Hands up all those who are now so old you can pretty much claim you passed any and every exam in the world, and no one has a clue how they would go about verifying that information.

Erm - ever heard of re-sits? Or finishing GCSEs in college?
Oh.. .and the main reason I visited this thread - I notice Ison hasn't got a snazzy title, he's just "Moderator". Surely something snazzy could be thought up for him? Anyone?

Shame on you, Gav
MOD used to insist on seeing certificates during recruitment: copies can be obtained from the examining board if the originals have been lost. However, some government departments now prefer to conduct their own literacy and numeracy tests for basic entry level grades. The rules aren't so lax when it comes to claiming to have a degree though.
In reality, once you get to a certain age, employers are more interested in what experience you have and are inclined to place more emphasis on references than qualifications you gained 15+ years before at school.
I'm sure I've probably claimed a qualification I haven't got when applying for a job. But that's more to do with a failing memory than any attempt to deceive. So I would also have to hold my hand up to that one!

What I find more interesting is the fact that this guy seems to actually working hard on his GCSE exams! And yeah, just because your teacher might say that you'll die aged 26 of drug abuse if you don't pass your GCSEs doesn't mean it will. I mean, my English teacher told me that a low English GCSE is a sign of poor spelling and grammar, but ive nevar had this problam.

I remember the head of year giving the "work hard and you'll be fine, or you can become the drunk in the town centre's bus shelter".
He later became that drunk.
