When you say IE6, do you mean IE7? I find 6 to be fine, just not as good as Firefox, but 7 a slow piece of bloatware.
I also find myself to talk increasingly more like Tumble Weed these days.
Welcome to Metropol 7.05
No, when I say IE6 I mean IE6. However I guess your mileage may vary.Jovis wrote:When you say IE6, do you mean IE7? I find 6 to be fine, but 7 a slow piece of bloatware.
If only. Remember that MS didn't release IE7 for Windows 2000, which remains very much used in corporate environments. Combine that with the fact that there is no pressing need for WinXP users to upgrade (and, let's face it, if they didn't move away from IE6 when plausible alternatives were about such as Firefox, why would they do so now IE7 has come?), and the fact that IE6 will remain supported by MS for a good long time, and you have a solid IE6 userbase that will probably only dwindle slowly over the next three years.Pad wrote:Hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer before enough people aren't using it to not care anymore.

Wow! This is the best-looking forum I've ever seen! Well done.
I think I've done a pretty good job of that crease in the paper around the phone, considering the paper is made of pre-rolled pastry.
Mr Gumba, you've done a wonderful job in making Metropol look how most of us probably always thought it should. You knew exactly what you wanted for the site, and it was a pleasure to work with you on this.
May the countdown to the next big revamp begin!

Now you mention it, I notice now the paper is a lot thicker than your regular sheets and the "crease" is a bit soft for paper too.. and now I can't see it any other way, thanks.Lee wrote:I think I've done a pretty good job of that crease in the paper around the phone, considering the paper is made of pre-rolled pastry.
Go on... just one little avatar. Whatever you show us has to be better than the image most of us have of you! And I do invite you to take that as a compliment on your metropol posting style. I was certainly surprised upon seeing how benign TVM looks.
BTW: I know it's only a side effect, but I quite like how the thread title builds up word by word as the images load.

What now? Seems your post has fallen into the wrong thread there cdd. Anyway, if I decide to have an avatar it won't be me but not on the Jaron scale of bullshittery (damn post reminded me). Now end this, it is getting a touch tedious and it's not good for the Metrohate to generate tedium, when it comes it comes.cdd wrote:Go on... just one little avatar. as i'm sure hyma will point out - my avatar was an integral part of the rebrand - ending my [nearly] seven years of anonymity.cdd wrote:I was certainly surprised upon seeing how benign TVM looks.
i like to think the faux wood tabletop layout of the forum is based on my real desk. of course they've omitted my gaspies tablets and my rota for who would be presenting on the itn news channel if it hadn't closed down.
