Will they have to change their logo to something illegible now that they've been awarded the bid?

I will go and check on that. With the Olympics the candidature logo can't be used for the actual games. Hopefully it's different for the Commonwealth Games because I quite like that one and don't think it's 90s at all.

It seems that the same logo can be used for the games themselves.

As Metropol has done 2012 and that's now a bit passé, perhaps the next look should be along the lines of:

Yay for Glasgow.

I will now take this opportunity to brag that I was one of the schoolkids who sang and danced in the opening ceremony of the 13th Commonwealth Games held in Edinburgh in 1986.

Observe these youtube delights (including a young Cheryl Baker doing a report for the BBC's Saturday Picture Show on the rehearsals), and then marvel at our fabulous numbers performed live to 600 million viewers. Oh yes.

well to be honest the olympics skin shouldn't have reappeared, but then it did, and it got jammed, and I had to spend 10 minutes trying to turn the damn thing back off.
