Like radio, Nick's comment posting is automated.

Just like a lot of local radio presenters you hear overnight - they're pre-recorded and are probably tucked up in bed.

I hope to become this regular in the years to come.

Hope that flu has shifted, Nick. I had the jab too but it seems like its only there to stop the strain that kills, not the one that inconveniences.

Happy New Year you marvelous old goat - and many, many more of them.

Thank you, young man, and many more to you too.

Got a bit close to the deadline this month.

Been busy this evening entertaining guests with a little food and a few hands of mah jong, so got a tad behind.

Don't mean to be pedantic here, but it was only the season that changed in Aussie-land, not the day. :P

Never realised that!

Is that a QANTAS just coming in to runway two?

I have worked out that my personal part of South Wales is 12 minutes behind London time.

Therefore I would guestimate that Wiltshire is between 9 and 11 minutes behind London time.

Therefore if Nick posts at 00:09 he will essentially be posting at midnight in his part of the world.

Just a thought.

*SPUT'S FASCINATING FACT*
That actually used to be the case officially, but then trains started propelling people across the country and everyone got confused. It's still used in astronomy though.

Easiest way to work it out is to look at the sunset and sunrise times for your area and offset them against London.

Easier said than done if you live in Manchester :) There is actually a legendary "Sunny Day" known amongst Manchester's atmospheric types, which happened in 2003 and is remembered with fondness and disbelief.

I know you can just look up sunrise and set times but I wanted to get that in.
