It's becoming a bit of a trend to try and start threads before they're needed, there was one a few weeks ago for an event in 2013. I'm guessing it's so they get control of the thread sub-title.

I don't even think it's that, I just think some get a sense of glory out of being a major thread starter.

I don't mind if the post actually contains some interesting opinion or new information, but if it's just someone telling us we can talk about Euro 2012, then it's not needed.

Agreed - it's seriously annoying. The old Challenge thread started by Juicy Joe was terrible for it.

Well, the post was basically someone who seemed to be Tumble Tower Jnr. It went something like:

'I'm really looking forward to all-new BlockBusters on Challenge tonight. I should be able to see all of them as they are broadcast, bar one, on the 23rd of July, when I'm seeing Coldplay at Richmond Stadium. I work in a SUPERSTORE, so probably won't be able to catch the repeat the next day, either.

I do wonder why people join the site and then only post once in a blue moon. There's people who have joined in say 2004 and only post once or twice a year in a seemingly random thread. Do they just forgot about the site for a year? I haven't really seen this with other forums I frequent.

For example the user britbat joined in 2003 and has posted tonight in the Tales of TVC thread, yet his/her last post was in 2009 and although he/she has apparently posted 132 times only two posts appear when I click on 'view all posts'.
