Drives me up the wall - and I'm someone who doesn't mind the thread. "Tim Willcox was on the News Channel at 11am and now he's on the evening shift. What a miracle man, he loves his work, how does he do it!" I've already pointed it out to them that it's tedious but unsurprisingly it makes zero difference.

I've pretty much boycotted that thread since Phil and Raheem started posting absolutely inane comments in it.

Oh for the days of Central Independent Television plc.

And then Tumble, either using code, or speaking the company name as a word... Gumtuv springs to mind.

...come on Eileen :P

P.S. The 'embed only 3 quotes' rule is a bit annoying.

Could be worse. A lot of forums only let you quote ONE post - vBulletin message boards even have a feature where any extra nested quotes are simply removed when you quote the post (so if you quote someone who quoted someone else, the earlier quote won't be on your post).

That's better - at least you don't have to edit your post to get rid of the quote codes manually.

Incredulously, the Rota thread has taken another turn for the worse.

God the site is so depressing of late. There is so much interesting stuff occurring in tellyland and yet it is buried under endless piles of shite.

I don't know even what the point of complaining about it is. Clearly the TVF staff are quite content to have a shit forum. So given that years of badgering them hasn't got us anywhere maybe the only alternative is to buy them out.

And yes, I *am* being serious. There's only so much banging your head against a bucket of Charsannah (It's Charlie and Susannah, LOLZ) someone can take,

I agree, Pete. It is depressingly bad now. I posted some videos of 10-year old BBC News presentation in the hope that it might stimulate some discussion and debate - especially from younger members who might not remember that far back - but it's all been quickly buried under a mountain of shite again.

I have to say that I do find it somewhat ironic that back in the day I was hounded by certain big name personalities (naming no names, but you know who you are) on the forum for being far too zealous as a moderator. I recall having the name 'itsrobot' as a result of the lightning speed with which I locked topics, intervened in threads and warned/banned members. Yet, 4 years since I stepped down and my style ceased, look what we're left with. At the moment I'm sitting here wishing I could intervene in that rota thread. I just want to tell them all to shut the hell up. So frustrating that I don't have the authority to do that anymore. I'll never stop visiting TV Forum, as it has a very special place in my heart. But, it's not the place it once was.
