Yes I saw your post and I agreed with it as well. Unfortunately, I think most people missed it the first time (as I did) as it was the last post before a new page of the thread was made (very early in the morning where not many people would be on), so like me I guess they thought that anything of interest hadn't been posted since the day before.

It was a very well written and argued post as well. I'd never thought about the swirls design like you'd put before - I thought it was a good idea and evolution of the brand, but I think differently of it now and agree the 2008 branding is much better. Overall I think the thing people miss the most is the graphics from the 2007 era as the current ones are so shoddy, just look at the 'LIVE' DOG and the location graphic next to it, which haven't been aligned properly for the last four years. It was just a major step back from what we had and it was a big change to get used to.

Well they DO keep changing it piecemeal. Every time a new header gets to be fully rolled out they go tinkering again. I'm sure you can see how that could be irritating to the type of soul that frequents TVF.

I end up missing the last posts on the page (when there's one after), simply because sometimes when I click the latest post icon it takes me to a post from a few days ago I've already read - which leads me to skip to the last page. Occasionally I'll work my way back; usually, I just end up missing stuff.

I actually think the 2008 graphics are nicer. Not a commonly held view, but it goes with my love for the 1999 look, which included plain unadorned graphics that made other broadcaster's graphics look tacky. The 2007 bevely glass-effect gradienty ones were nice, but not very BBC IMO. I don't think the LIVE - Location graphic has ever looked good in any era.

Yup, TVF's latest read post system seems to be tied into the cookies rather than database driven. It's also quite primitive in that its site based rather than thread based meaning that if you don't read a thread, then come back later, it'll show as read as its a new visit.

Hopefully the new software shall fix this*

I think it's amazing that the new BBC NI idents for Titanic season got an entire new thread, rather than one or two posts in one of the generic threads. And it re-uses part of the Silk soundtrack.

They are pretty awesome.

Was there any mention of the Weakest Link ending after 12 years a few weeks ago? Certainly didn't see anything, and if there was, it was probably chucked in the BBC One thread.

Incidentally, the last piece of music used on the Weakest Link was the 'Sudden death' stab.

TV Forum isn't really a gameshow-centric forum unless you count the Challenge thread.

I saw it, nice montage and the sudden death music was a nice touch. There weren't any end credits, either. (Or where there during the montage? I forget).

This is better than any place I guess to remind you all to listen to On the Box tonight on Radio 2 at 10pm.

There was a large discussion (and thread, I think), when it was revealed to be at the end of the line. Just seemed odd there was no follow-up when it actually ended.
