Basically kids have been banned from a school playground because neighbours complained that they are too noisy.
As a result BBC News reports the installation of a "soundproof fence":
Here is a picture of it.

Not so much baffling, but amusing nonetheless, especially the quote at the end.

Can the fabulous "girl has lip bitten off by dog" story be included in here?

It's amusing (to me anyway) that at least one of the national papers has had a "Newport is a shithole" article during Ryder Cup Week (I've noticed another in the Mail tonight) whereas our local rag toes the council line.
Says something when London-based papers reflect a local mood better than the lads down the local printing presses.

I don't know what newspaper, but one of the nationals is reporting that a 10 year old boy was unable to purchase a loaf of bread from Aldi/Lidl because children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the supermarket without an adult.

I took that very seriously until I read the headline.
How did he get that position? Say he was head of executive producing of news gathering for BBC Meridian news, tomorrow.

Another really baffling headline:
Man denies diabetes driving death charge
Doesn't mean
anything. It's just a collection of random words.
Diabetic driver denies causing pedestrian's death
Okay it takes up more room, but if the headline font weren't so bloody massive...
