*NOT IMPRESSED*

Nick Grimshaw should be banished completely. I just don't enjoy listening to him whatsoever. More Nihal is a bad thing too, he simply isn't entertaining and sounds far too like Russell Brand for my liking.

More Sara Cox would be appreciated. I know she's a bit marmite, but I think she's fab. I'd have her in Edith's weekday slot, with Edith moved to weekends permanently - I don't dislike Edith, I just don't think she's the right person for weekdays.

I also think it's time Chris Moyles was moved on elsewhere. I do enjoy his show, but it is becoming stale and a tad self-indulgent. I'm not sure who I'd replace him with though, Scott Mills would be the obvious choice, but he's just more of the same. Somebody like Simon Amstell would be interesting, not sure how much radio experience he has but Buzzcocks has given him a lot of popularity and he's got the fast-wittedness to carry it off I reckon.

I agree with most of that. I do believe that maybe the time is right for Chris to move on. Leave on a high - something most Radio 1 breakfast show hosts don't end up doing. I wouldn't want to see Scott Mills take Breakfast full time, but also think he has said in the past that he doesn't want it full time. Who you put on instead though, I have no idea.

He recently said that he couldn't say no to the breakfast show.

I also think an outsider would be best, though possibly Greg James if I had to choose an insider. I wouldn't mind Scott though if I'm honest.

I don't think there is a pretender to Moyles throne yet.

How come every time I've got Radio 1 on and it's Colin Murray's show, he's always prattling on about his "Midweek Moboile Discorr" or something?

The midweek mobile disco is an hour of songs on a theme. Examples range from the simple "songs to make you cry" to the more involved "Land's End to John O' Groats" to the topical last week "Large Hadron Collider" themed disco. Basically just an hour of songs on a theme, but its fun if you like the music Colin plays on his show.

Is anybody else excited at the prospect of Vernon Kay filling in for Chris Moyles all next week?

Should be interesting - he's really good on his own, but I've never heard him with a 'team'.

Tsk, I hate replying to a thread that I was the last person to write in.

There was an article in The Sun (yes, I know) last week that suggested that the Radio 1 "bosses" (the generic term for the mystical people in charge) are looking to freshen up the lineup. And by freshen up the lineup, they mean get rid of anybody over 25 in a bizarre and unnecessary bid to chase after younger listeners.

Supposedly, Moyles and Whiley should be worried. Reggie Yates is apparently "popular with the bosses" and is a potential candidate for the breakfast show.

If there is any basis for this - which hopefully there isn't - then I'm disappointed. Radio 1 isn't meant to be CBBC Radio, they've done a really good job in recent years of building up a credible brand that is well respected. I say get shut of 6 Music, spread their content between Radios 1 and 2, and stick Reggie and the likes of Fearne Cotton and Nick Grimshaw on a new station in the space they make available. And then don't broadcast it anywhere.

What an absolute complete and utter load of nonsense! I think The Sun are/were hoping Moyles would pick that story up and get a few namechecks on the air.
