And why do you have "97" next to your name? Are you only 9 or 10 years old?
No. It is calculated by adding the Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything plus the negative of Nick Harvey's age.

42+54+(-(-1))=97

And I'm not spying on Hyma. I remember little details such as the one in the post in the BBC News 24 thread in which he complained that the old TOG had burnt itself into the flat plasma screens at Dundee University (and I'm pretty sure he complained about the overscan messing up the new DOG and ticker after the graphics were revised). If someone can be bothered to dig up this post, I would give you £400,000, but it was all spent on the London Olympics logo.

(before you ask, I am not nine or ten years old.)

Bollocks.

You're probably another of these TV anoraks who is obsessed with the year 1997 because it was the year of balloons, 2's and Diana newsflashes.

If I told you that I'm an advanced mathematician would that help?

What the bloomin' hell are you dribbling on about, fool?

The 97 is the nearest of all those numbers to my actual age, but none of them are anything like precise.

If you're going to quote data, quote it accurately, for goodness sake.

*SNORT* hardly.

This may come as a shock to some, but this forum has always been entirely owned and operated from Scotland.

Martin is only a short jaunt across the central belt from me.

In the past you've had moderators in England and Wales too, though.

Is there any reason why I always thought he was Hampshire, somewhere round Rob Francis country?

He's not another of these terrible English who are studying up there to avoid the fees, is he?

No he's the real deal.

Johnnyboy is a man of wit and sagacity, and will be a moderator here until he decides not to be. The fact that he's been unseen lately is a testament to his business prowess, nothing else.

I should have been clearer when I said "owned and operated". I meant "owned", but the phrase rolled off the fingers.

-1 is in some cases used to represent infinity by computers (when programming in BASIC at least). How is infinity connoted in HARVEY*?

*HARVEY = Harvey's Automatic Reiterating Versatile Electronic notation of Your program
