Be nice if I could give him the benefit of the doubt but if Tumbly Wumbly has taught us anything it's that you can't be sure what is a joke or wilful ignorance.
He is a joke but I don't think he knows that.

In the same way I'm certain Tumble isn't having us on, I'm certain David knows what he's doing.baa wrote:Be nice if I could give him the benefit of the doubt but if Tumbly Wumbly has taught us anything it's that you can't be sure what is a joke or wilful ignorance.
He is a joke but I don't think he knows that.
This description of the BBC Three thread proves that.
He's bloody good value too.Great Movie Mistakes, Great Movie Mistakes 2, Songs of Praise Uncut, ..programmes start at 7:00pm.
I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?
Speaking of strange obsessions, I find VirginMediaPhil's (or is it someone else?)'s obsession with BBC logo guidelines quite irritating, and bewildering...
Seems Tumble Tower-esque...I dislike that animation as the blocks appear one by one, something that is not part of the logo guidelines and weakens the core brand IMO. Same thing happened with the '88 logo and we know where that got us by the late 90s...
Yes, that's me. I do think the guidelines should be listened to. Don't you think the BBC logo animated looks horrid? It looks horrid on that animation, it looks horrid on the BBC Productions logo, it just looks wrong and, as I've said, weakens the core brand.
I may sound like a brand agency, but I just think Lambie-Nairn's designs should be respected, and that the BBC guidelines should be adhered to! I've noticed that if I post something like that, people think it's a bit weird and there's a general consensus that "rules are there to be broken". No they're not, they are there to stop monstrosities like this from happening...

Disagree with me if you want, but I just think stuff like that looks awful.

He's subverting the forum. He's being a post-TumbleTower pseudo-member. He has a series of running jokes, some knowing, sharp, sometimes ultra-satirical humour, which sometimes it misses the mark if he's trying too hard or attempting to fashion humour round weak material.Philip wrote:I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?
Some people won't get this of course.
Did you see how funny some of the ones from Challenge TV were?Philip wrote:I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?
The Hitler one in particular, was fascinatingly funny, almost as if the people doing them feel like nobody will ever listen to AD on Challenge.wells wrote:Did you see how funny some of the ones from Challenge TV were?Philip wrote:I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?
I'm sure David would work well as a researcher/writer for something like TV Burp.Philip wrote:The Hitler one in particular, was fascinatingly funny, almost as if the people doing them feel like nobody will ever listen to AD on Challenge.wells wrote:Did you see how funny some of the ones from Challenge TV were?Philip wrote:I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?
Sorry I seem to have missed this. Obviously I could search but demanding a link on pain of banning seems a more efficient use of my time...Philip wrote:The Hitler one in particular, was fascinatingly funny, almost as if the people doing them feel like nobody will ever listen to AD on Challenge.wells wrote:Did you see how funny some of the ones from Challenge TV were?Philip wrote:I find David's fascination with AD and subtitles pretty strange, even if it is a joke, it doesn't come across well and why does he have to talk about it in every single post?

That post is of someone quoting the actual video, he posted three so I thought it would be easier.
