Some of the older topics I read during boredom show Beep as a bad speller, with bad grammar. Now though, Beep makes very few of these aforementioned blunders - apparently like ginofish.

No offense intended to Beep.
None taken. I was a prat back then (and to a degree, still a prat now).

Is stevek2 really a teacher? His ability to spell and construct sentences seems to have collapsed...

Edit: As apparently mine had too...

They can usually speak English well. Maths teachers on the other hand are another breed...

I hope you don't teach your students how to spell. Or punctuate.
Yes I do but i'm not teaching year one literacy when I'm posting on here am I, I'm also fallable like most humans

why do people have this assumption that teachers can and will always spell and punctuate perfectly every time
I really want to write, "because its in the job description?!"

But I won't - because I do rather like Stevek2.If only he would strop rolling his eyes incessantly.

Do it.
Surely Key Stage 1 (Reception to Year 2) is the MOST vital time to be spelling right, as that is when you learn your spellings and they are treated with paramount importance, and by virtue of him being a KS1 Literacy teacher, it is his job!

No. Its not that I disagree with your assessment; but I don't want to hurt his feelings.

Although I am surprised that he would suggest that its unreasonable to expect a teacher to have a command of spelling and grammar at all times.

I understand your point of view and reasoning for not doing it, maybe I'm just on (and let's face it, still on as have been for the last 5 years) git mode.

I couldn't stop myself, sorry...

Most other people can manage it, forgive me for assuming someone who'll educate the youth could actually construct a sentence.

Never mind eh?
