I'm with you guys on this. Even in the short time I've been around I've noticed things take a turn for the worst. I tend to only look at threads when quality discussion can be expected.
So the BBC2 Thread, in basic terms.
TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
The place is vile at the moment, the Daybreak thread is, at the time of writing, 136 pages long, that could easily be snapped down to about 60ish if the Rota discussion/"Dan and Kate are balatentelly haveing special cuddleses" posts were removed. I don't really like slagging of management because I know it is hard to run a website, but I do agree a lot of it boils down to bad moderation. I find the rota discussion to be creepy and completely unrelated to the main topic of the forum. It was winding me (And others I am sure) up so much in the ITV News thread I felt I had to create a new thread just for rota and presentation discussion to separate dross from interesting stuff, Instead, Mochaoahaoaoaoaoaoaoala had a go at me about it! You cannot win. Nobody cares if Alistair Stewart uses Kiwi shoe polish because he was spotted in Primrose Hill Morrisons buying it and that Huw Edwards' number plate is
LX69 ITV [Complete fabrication, sorry Ethan!].
Do people get confused between 'TV Presentation' as in, Idents, Continuity and everything like that and TV programme presenters/presentation teams?

There definitely needs to be a moderating team that agrees with the fact that the gino/ethan/other members like them folk should not be tolerated at all, but will also be there at least every few days, in an ideal world daily.
There also needs to be a head moderator, instead of Asa, who can just do the behind-the-scenes part of the website and maybe intervene if he wants or feels he needs to.

What ever happened to Rob. del. Monte.?
Just a quick clarification though, the first post was actually about the sticky supermarket sweep thread, however there was a second poll run at a later date (end of 07 / start 08) which is when the rota problems first began.
If you search up top for "rota thread" you'll note that the moans a few and far between earlier on with rota chat being confined mainly to two or three threads. However it is in the past year or so that EVERY bloody thread is infected with it hence the increase in moaning over here.
Picking a random page, page 44, you'll note it is more complaints against specific members, in particular the amazingly poor Andrew Tyne Tits.

Oh god, didn't he change his name about 10 times?Pete wrote:Andrew Tyne Tits.
Anyway, that was some saga wasn't it. Amazingly outdated website takes forever to change, then changes to an actually quite good website, before about 10 seconds later being replaced with ITV Local. Huh.
I realise that I am still seen as one of the new crowd, and that I can still be immature some times.
I now realise that and even though I am going through a tough time this past week, dealing with the death of a family member, still take full responsibility of the fact that that was a stupid post to make, and have now deleted it, expanding my ideas more into a post below.
However the fact that you think I am still not smart enough to be considered as a genuine voice of opinion on these forums has left me wondering whether there is any point in trying to get the old forum of back, if all it will be is drowning out any members who have joined post-2004.
Quality of user shouldn't be on join dates, I am totally against them. It should be on how often they stay on topic and how well they present their ideas and reasons. Rather than most users throwing their half baked opinions at us.
actually I was implying that phil was an older member back from his cbbc days but never mind.
And of course joining date isn't a bastion of truth, however the morons do tend to be new blood which is what annoys me the most, lording it over people who've been there longer. That is not to say there are not good new members, just it tends to be that the morons are all new(ish)

It wouldn't be half as bad if they actually had opinions rather than just spat their thoughts out. I spend half my time reading posts on there shouting "WHY!???" at the screen.Beep wrote:Rather than most users throwing their half baked opinions at us.
I don't mind the rota dicussion - if there's a point to it - i.e. somebody new appears. But I can't stand any of this constant posting about how Huw stood up for 30 seconds earlier at the end of the ten which must mean he's fed up and has had a bad day, when he shouldn't because he didn't have to do the five today which was presented by <insert name here> and therefore didn't need to be there until rehearsals at half nine. Or the constant references to who's "pregnant" - WHAT DO THE QUOTES MEAN????!
It was picked up over there, and here, and I'm going to be contraversial, but I actually think pointing out that ITV are sending Julie out to Japan is a worthwhile piece of info. But the follow up about other presenters being on the same plane should have been that Sky / BBC are sending people out as well, rather than the desperate name checking the presenters only like they're some kind of mate, even though everybody knows they just got the info from twitter.
I hate twitter. It just gives all the idiots a sense that they're pals with famous people, and get exclusive access to their thoughts. IT'S NOT EXCLUSIVE. IF WE CARED, WE'D BE FOLLOWING THEM ANYWAY.
