Gav's very timely intervention in that thread just saved me the trouble of explaining why breakingnews is talking bollocks, I'll just consider myself a "more rational member" and leave him to his own little world where news isn't public service broadcasting :)

I clicked reply and then took my own advice and stopped.

Personally if someone told others to ignore me and they did, I'd be livid.

How fabulous.

Aah, you must be 'Field'. I tried that the other day, but the thread was deleted before I could post. Expect a warning, I'm already on one.
Update: No warning received as yet but my post was edited significantly for unnecessary 'nitpicking'. I hope that some of you at least had the opportunity to read it before it was taken down. For the record, I emailed Asa:
Asa

Would you be so kind as to let me know which Mod thought it necessary to edit my recent post in the Daybreak thread? They removed the part in which I asked if ginofish would mind using a spell check on his posts and the corrections I made to his last post. Whilst I appreciate that some people may interpret this as 'nitpicking' (according to the Mod who edited the post), I'd point out two things:

1. Under the rules section of the website, it clearly states:

"We appreciate that not everyone has an A* in English but for the benefit of all users please make your posts as logical and readable as possible. Use a spell check facility in your browser, such as ieSpell for Internet Explorer before submitting your post. Text "txt" speak is not allowed."

I doubt that ginofish's posts meet this minimum standard. For the record, English is not my first language and my posts are clear and correct in terms of grammar, punctuation and spelling. When you add in to this the fact that I am also a dyslexic, it's quite remarkable that I can post comments at all, let alone ensure that there are few (if any) mistakes in them and they are 'as logical and readable as possible'. If I can do it, then so can ginofish.

2. As you might be aware, a number of individuals on the Forum are tiring of the quality of the posts being made, including those by ginofish. I do not have a problem with ginofish - in fact, on more than one occasion I've welcomed his posts and by asking him nicely I've elicited more balanced and reasoned answers from him than one would otherwise expect. Unless ginofish is shown why his posts are not logical or readable and why he should pay attention to it, then he will never change. I posted a critique of his comments in the hope that he might actually learn something from it (and, you never know, one or two other members might, too). That's more than the majority of members on here bother to do.

If you would like to ban me because of my post or this email, then feel free. I try to help. I welcome input from everybody. That's more than can be said for others on here. If you or the Mods feel that editing a post because it actually attempts to help somebody at the same time as contributing to a discussion isn't appropriate then I'm not sure what the point of contributing to the Forum is.

Let's wait to see what response this elicits.

Tsk. Can't these things be shorter? I hate reading stuff that's longer than it needs to be in order to sound important.

Exactly. That's why I always shorten quotes down to just what's needed to reply to.

Ginofish Watch 24:

UPDATE: Ginofish gets smart and sarcy in the Requests thread, informing us that technically 'The Cube', is a Cuboid, because he's clever and someone to look up too. Nit-picking, is it not.
