Jim Murphy gone.
If exit poll figures are correct the suggestion is that Tories could legitimately govern as a minority.

Tories on course for 325 - an effective outright majority.
Incredible result really, exceeding all expectations for Tories. Big name scalps in Scotland & slaughter for Lib Dems.
New leaders required for Labour, Lib Dems & UKIP ?
Meanwhile the polling industry is in tatters after this result.

Small consolation that Esther McVey lost to Labour in Wirral West.
Miliband will certainly resign with a Blairite taking over.

It appears we're seeing a similar repeat of the 1992 election, with a tiny majority for the Tories and the polls getting it wrong.

People are fucking stupid, a party who has double the debt, who has spent more than labour ever did... I could have expected min Tory government, with help from the UDP, but not this. Your made your bed, you can keep the union. Were be free in 2016.
I can't quite believe it to be honest. I guess my risky prediction wasn't so risky after all!

What are you fucking talking about? You didn't even vote yes when you had the chance.barcode wrote:People are fucking stupid, a party who has double the debt, who has spent more than labour ever did... Yeah, the only way a second Scotland referendum was coming was if there was a Labour-SNP coalition - it will have been an SNP red line. The only referendum we're getting is the EU one the Tories promised.
For the record, I voted Labour, and they did win the local seat (they won all three in Hull, and UKIP was second in all three - this election result will be very unpopular in the 2017 City of Culture).
