Thank you for the correct grammar though. What irritates and annoys me is the ScotRail signage on every window that states "Please keep your feet off our seat!"

The train operator clearly has more than one seat. This is printed on thousands of stickers and I grate my teeth every time I see one. Argh!

Our bus services in Sheffield are generally decent to be fair, the buses are usually quite modern - just not around my area, where (First) buses are every half hour and use old scrapheaps to shovel us around. There's a competing service from another local company (TM Travel) which uses more modern buses but services finish at five o'clock :?

It all depends on the area really, most respect the buses but the majority of buses do have the plastic assualt screens next to the driver, and CCTV cameras aplenty.

Glory supporters. You know the ones, the (usually) fat males with Manchester United, Chelsea or (bizzarely) Newcastle United shirts wandering about town or watching the game at the pub, pretending to be a loyal fan. They really do grate.

Also, the bus I catch seems unable to spell its location properly. That's annoying, especially since I catch said bus every day.

You're from Scunthorpe, right? Are you sure it's not a swear filter on the display board at work?

That would be logical, if it was Scunthorpe being mis-spelled. Sadly, it isn't. The sign says Kirton Linsdey when it should read Kirton Lindsey. It's the bus home from town, rather than that bus to town.

Hope that made sense :?

EDIT: Found a pic on Fickr.

if the relevant person in this thread matching said criteria would kindly put a sock in it i'd be most grateful.
I just genuinely want to know why people are so irritated by the things they're irritated by.

I mean, Rebecca Black, really? See, if I'm given a link to a song by someone saying "Beejesus, this is quite simply the worst song I've ever heard", I wouldn't listen to it. For that reason I've never heard the song, and even if I had, I wouldn't go so far as to be 'irritated' by it. Am I right in thinking it was a little novelty thing put together by the girl's parents for her birthday? Crikey, I had a poorly chromakeyed video of me flying over Manhattan Island like Superman done on my eighth Birthday. Wouldn't have been my fault if something clearly shit became an overnight 'sensation' and attracted the bile of Youtube commenters, with whom the blame lies for her mass-exposure.

Some people are so quick to be annoyed by things that are so easily ignorable that it's unreal.

So on that note, I am irritated and annoyed by people whose irritation and annoyance perpetuate the exposure of whatever irksome thing. If people just accepted it for what it is and ignored it, people would be far calmer.

Thought you would abhor Rebacca Black considering she became famous due to her parents' wealth, not on merit.

She became famous because people sent her death threats for recording a song that isn't very good, and I'd rather you didn't try to turn this into a discussion of me 'umble begginin's.

I've just listened to it. Is that it? Inoffensive at worst, a thirteen year old enjoying the chance to be in a music video with her chums at best.

Ronnie, I'm not someone who gets wound up by very much at all. Like you, I can ignore things, but by returning to this again and again, it would seem that you also are

You just need to take out a mortgage to travel though, especially with First. Moving into the city centre has saved me so much money through not having to catch the busses.

I remember when I moved to Sheffield and it was 60p for my journey. Same trip today is £2.00.
