Oh, the joys of proper editing, with sticky tape and a razor blade. The days when crafty editors always had a bulldog clip, labelled "spare breaths", hanging on a hook on the wall, with various lengths of tape festooned from it, just ready to pop back in if you tightened something up a bit too much.
We must now have a whole generation of extremely professional sound editors who wouldn't know an editing block if one fell on their heads.
And a generation of radio station cleaners who haven't at some point cut their ankles on a dropped razor-blade which somehow became wedged in the wheels of a reel-to-reel tape machine. People in radio these days don't know they're born!
You haven't got a chinagraph on you have you?

Do you prefer yellow or white? I'm a yellow man myself.
I still happen to have a couple my drawer here, together with an old block, a blade or three and a reel of (now probably un) sticky tape.

I never really cared, as long as I could find one - no radio station ever had enough of them, and those they did have were usually shattered right through, so every time you tried to sharpen them the 'lead' dropped out.

Next you'll be telling me you've got a spare NAB centre.

Have the overnight shows moved to London? Seems a rather strange thing to do in the era of moving everything away from the captial.

He's filling in for Dermot on 80 episodes of Eggheads, so I assume he is filming that.

Yeah, I like to think of barcode as a number two personally, so he's alright.
