Perhaps the staff have lost interest, and doing stuff in a way which will maximise profits for the administrator which has jettisoned them is not high on their list of priorities?

As I said in my original post, that I completely get - for the staff in that store that have already been condemned. But you'd think the administrator would try to manage closures by putting in people who (at least at the moment) still have a job to oversee the process.

I agree. Normally they do it by offering enhanced bonuses to managers.

The other option would be to just totally close the store, give them a week to pack it up and be done with it.

You wonder how the new owners will be able to get any return on their investment going forward.. The business model seemed dead to me. There are so many online services that offer much better value than blockbusters. I accept not everyone has fast broadband or even a device they can watch an online movie service on, but surely those numbers are small?

I can't remember the last time I rented anything from blockbusters.. I always thought choices had a better selection, but they've been closed for ages, and even then I only ever used them occasionally... The wait to see something so-so on sky movies is not that long in the grand scheme of things. Anything I really want to watch I'll always go to the cinema, anything else I'll just wait for it to show up on the movie channels.

I haven't rented a movie or game since before DVDs existed. I must have been 8 or something, and it was a VCR
