For me, late night head-to-head terrestrial news does not work. When you look at the TV ratings, it is self-evident that with the BBC and ITV's late news are not in direct competition, their audiences improve.
And if head to head news is wanted, try it at lunchtime. Move the BBC "News At Ten" and put it back to 9 o'clock and possibly have the plaudits of saying "We still get more viewers than ITV" - that is how they will get more viewers because it is earlier in the evening. Alternatively, I would like to see how the BBC1 Late News would be approached if it aired after Newsnight.

Absolutely BRILLIANT TOH there putting a picture of the main story behind the presenters about the GAZA Issue, made a much welcome change to the newsroom backdrop - BRILLIANT, please do that more often - makes excellent use of the screens. WELL DONE 10/10!

Can't they do this with the Top Story at the top of every hour.

I know that it's a forum for presentation discussion, including surreal fantasy, but these two fuckers are doing my nut in at the moment. Particularly the former weirdo with the obsession of moving the BBC's news back for the benefit of ITV, and also the crystal turd he dumped last night about moving Mark Austin to C4 News, because Krishnan "does not seem to have the gravitas to be the main anchor". And The Big Melt does??? What universe is he living in...

Dear Admin,
Let's be honest this forum can be a bit of a dry, dusty old place at times and it's difficult to get animated with endless discussions about the pros and cons of a regional opt-out from somewhere like BBC Port Stanley.
But at least have the courtesy if not the courage to leave in posts that send a small ripple across an otherwise stagnant forum.
You might not agree with them but perhaps if you didn't automatically delete everything that doesn't fit into your cosy and often unreal world of television you might get more people to contribute on here.
Otherwise it's like reading the online equivalent of BBC Four.... worthy but dull.
