If you read my post, you'll see I don't absolve our bloodsportists of their cruelty-based pursuits. But neither do I, nor can I, believe that people in this country in the 21st Century would flock in their tens of thousands week in week out to see ritualistic slaughter in the name of entertainment.
No, we prefer to get stuck in and do it ourselves. We also prefer to watch horses race, many to their death, in the Grand National.
Quite why it is an oxymoron to say that the crowd do not kill bulls is beyond me. Quite why that statement is detrimental to a free society (i.e. Orwellian) is beyond me.

OK....
The crowd are there for one reason - to see a bull die horribly. You seem to think they are there for other happy-go-lucky reasons, and that their bloodlust, ticket revenue, cheering, encouragement etc. is completely irrelevant in the so-called spectacle of the death of the bull. Therefore, to absolve the crowd of at least a percentage of responsibility for the occasion occurring is very Orwellian. It is thoughtcrime.

No, I am merely saying that the crowd are not killing bulls. Are you too stupid to understand that?
I have already explained that in certain regions the bull is never killed. By extension, there will be people who visit the bullrings to watch bullfights that result in death who are appreciating the art of it.
I also don't think you understand the meaning of the word Orwellian. Or thoughtcrime for that matter. Stop using words you don't know the meaning of.

Really? After all that, you're bringing it down to the basic 1st-grade interpretation of active participation, rather than the more nuanced subtle associative tenets of audience participation? Your approach to this perverse variation on the Bishop Berkeley question leaves a lot to be desired young man. It is, ironically, akin to a bull in a china shop.

The point I was trying to make that the only actual distinction you're making between here and your example of Spain is that Johnny Foreigner is obviously inferior.

I see the Mail is trying to ramp up the drama by using the word HORSEFLESH instead of horsemeat. Also now describing products with it in as being 'heavily contaminated'.
I guess they know what their readers like.
