It has been suggested that Brian Souter is a vile homophobe - with more than a murky backstory involving an allegedly gay son (or nephew?) and an allegedly mentally ill sister.
But I cannot confirm if this is true or not.
As he has the means to pay for expensive lawyers, I will merely point to one of the many stories on the subject.

That said, Souter may have many non-vile reasons to support the SNP, as well as other businessmen.
Aye - for all my Labour pontificating, its true that we all ultimately vote in a way that we feels serves us best. And I think the SNP are currently doing that.

Polls have just closed in the Welsh Assembly Referendum. I'm not ashamed to say I voted yes, removing the need for Westminster to fiddle about for two months before passing our laws. Opinion polls suggest low turnout, but amongst those who said they would definitely be voting, the Yes camp had a clear lead in the 60s. Results tomorrow on BBC 2 Wales and S4C.

The original referendum in 1999 resulted in a 51-49 split. Since then polls have consistently shown support for the assembly rising.

I have found a new poll:
http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/archives/3285
With the SNP increase there share of the vote over the last one by 8%
POS Poll 13-3-2011
Constituency :
43% | 37% | 11% | 5%
Regional :
44% | 37% | 11% | 4% | 6%
According to Professor John Curtice, elections expert at Strathclyde University, the results mean
Labour 63 seats – up by 17.
SNP : 49 seats, Up by two.
Lib Dems: reduced from the current 16 down to five.
Tories – Down by 5.”
More interesting enough I come across these two other polls:
YouGov/Sunday Times Con/LD Coalition UK Government – Net approval
Rest of South -18
London -19
Midlands/Wales -34
North -41
Scotland -53
Great Britain -30
Nick clegg is more unpopular than David Cameron.

Surely that's BMRB, not BRMB! Why would a West Midlands based radio station poll that?
