Well it seems i've just banned my self from the forum.

I changed my abbandoned '[email protected]' to my newer hotmail address but the verification links are both broken and the registration form say's I can't use any free email account.

How the hell is anyone meant to register with that sort of attitude?

It's TVF Policy that you can't register with a freebie email account (Hotmail or Yahoo for example). IIRC it was intended to reduce the amount of spammers on the forum.

With improved verification though, surely this policy is redundant nowadays?

I'm now sharing my Metropol username on TVF. IIve contacted asa and will use that to post until, or if ,he re-verifies my account.

Did you check your junk folder for a verification e-mail as thats where mine went when I changed my address earlier

I did but the link did not work.

You have to expand the password section, and enter your password in all three boxes. I've managed to use my GMail email.

Well it's a bit late now, i've registered a new account and am locked out of my previous one.
