But overall don't forget, whoever is President - there is a massive back room staff that will guide them forward and make sure nothing too disastrous happens.

No, I don't mean that. I'm just concerned that he won't have the backbone to make tough decisions when required to do so. He seems like the kind of person who wouldn't say boo to a goose -- but sometimes it's necessary.

I fail to see how you come to this conclusion. I think it's a fairly safe assumption that to get to the position of US President you have to be exceptionally tough, determined and driven, especially in his case having rather overcome the odds and inevitable prejudice.

I hope you're right that Obama is tough enough for every aspect of the job. Let's not get complacent, is all I'm saying. There's no doubt this is the dawning of a new era but sadly the world will never be a utopia no matter who's in power in the USA.

Love the fact that Kenya is having an impromptu national holiday tomorrow. Why do we never do that here? We could have had one after London won the olympic bid, for instance.
