The specialist status college system is a bit of a joke as there's nothing "specialist" about it - schools and apply for (and get) as many specialist statuses as they want. This thus gets them lots of money which they spend on important things like new signs, letterheaded paper and fancy goodies to incorporate the specialist status to other areas of the school.

Thus you get the name of the school (the one I work at) as "..... High School Maths, Computing and Creative Arts Specialist College. A Leading Edge School" We are apparently both a school and college. We are also able to be "specialist" in distinct areas of Maths and Arts (Maths and Computing complement each other).

I also agree that the system changing every five minutes serves to cause confusion with everybody, especially parents and unfortunatly it's the children that suffer!

It's nice to know that as a single 'non-brat-producing' tax-payer my money is being well spent! Like well designed signs.

I don't believe it for a second.

Tsk.

You can't be that old if you sat GCSEs. Some of us have bona fide O levels.
You're right, I'm a fraud

And you even lied about the buses running on time. And in the wrong thread, it's awful I don't know what to say. I have evidence to the contrary!
