I think it may be something to do with searching for software updates or something. My freeview box automatically searches for updates at 3am everyday too, but I switch everything off anyway, so it's only if I'm watching TV at that time in the morning that it bothers me.StuartPlymouth wrote:only because it switches on for 10 seconds on Freeview Channel 80 at 3am everyday full volume(and I have no idea why).

I'm glad it's not just me! I have searched the in-built freeview element of the TV to see if there is a timer set for 3am, and there isn't. It doesn't turn the screen on, just the sound.ashley b wrote:I think it may be something to do with searching for software updates or something. If I leave the Freeview tuner set to a channel that doesn't transmit at 3am I don't get woken up. But I have the habit of recording Emmerdale & Hollyoaks at 7pm (on Sky+) and watching "The One Show" at 7pm (on Freeview). So when I switch back to Sky later the TV is set at BBC One on DTT, so I get News 24 countdown and headline bed at 3am! Grrrrr!

That's why I now swtich TV off when I go to bed!
