the great thing about this camera which i'll definately be looking for when i eventually upgrade within the next year is the number of manual options and how close you can get to the lense in macro mode.

the trailing light effect you can see on the photo you highlighted was really simply done on a 5 second exposure.

it's funny to see how many drivers slow down when they see a bloke in black with a tripod pointing it along the road!

Thanks for the info. I bet you paid alot for it when it first came out - it's a 5Mp jobbie from the information I can glean from Google.

The current Sony camera I have has horrible problems with colour alignment on parts of the image - I sometimes get an effect you see when you look at a newspaper when the colour separations have slid out of alignment. And despite being on its highest quality setting, the JPEG compressions is a bit obvious.

However on its plus side it has a manual and macro mode, which, like you say is useful.

I tried the streaky traffic effect on a 2 second exposure and here's what I got. I don't have a tripod, so I used the next best thing - stuck my camera on a crash barrier, which you can just see out of shot in the 1st image. Although I'd love to have a tripod, it's not exactly portable or discreet, and you can't stick it in your pocket. Plus this area is fairly chav ridden too.

Had a pitiful amount of snow at home. Although rumours of more tonight...





Went for a walk today starting in a nearby village, where they film The Vicar of Dibley incidentally. Not much snow here either although there was a few days back.
