I hardly use my car to be honest. I might even sell it!
Oh I don't believe in buses, they're so political -- they're like little working mens clubs, everyone has "their seat", they wave at other drivers as if they know them, and there are pools of sick everywhere.

Don't forget the joys of the country where we have massive birds that scare the crap out of you, half eaten voles and you can't get BBC2.

And our asda shuts at 10.

I'm not KEEN on buses, I much prefer to be in the car. For a start getting across the city is a lot lot quicker in the car, rather than on the bus where it stops every 300 yds to collect grannies with their tartan shopping carts.

I don't like Asda much, but I guess it's convienient just being across the road. I'm a Tesco boy at heart - even though my clubcard keyfob stopped working long ago.

Yes, panic buying is going on in earnest around here too (South Humberside), fuelled (geddit) buy a nice headline in the local rag "PANIC AT THE PUMPS". Huge queues at every petrol station.

Seemed to be a lot of panic buying around here. Asda ran out of petrol tonight and there seemed to be queues everywhere.

In town I have seen 3 petrol stations with 3 different prices for unleaded... 95.9, 96.9, 99.9. I'm guessing the cheapest had already run out as it was the petrol station opposite which people were queueing at when I was traveling home.

no, they just thought you were going to use the cheapest one so they went elsewhere

They've been panic buying round my neck of the woods today!
You couden't get to the docks for 2 reasons today.
The first being long queues from the petrol stations around the A2 and Jubilee Way, also to add to the chaos a lorry decided to overturn and drop it's load en-route to the Docks.

Apparently the only two petrol stations that were empty were the B.P stations on Townwall st ( leading to the docks) and the B.P station at the Eastern Docks. Not surprising really because most people in Dover fill up at Tesco ( just off the A2) where all the chaos has been today.

I heard a rumour that Tesco and Esso had run out of fuel by about 2pm.

The Bournemouth Daily Echo has really helped things somewhat by putting a list of the cheapest garages in town, silly buggers they are!!
there has been a constant que of traffic outside my bedroom window which is right next to a Murco garage!
I couldnt care less bout price of fuel, as long as price of porn stays low i am happy

Yes, it really does say 38.9p for unleaded and 37.8p for diesel. I think the 41.6p is for the old 4 star. I think this pic dates from around 1992, because prices were about 5p more when I started driving in 1993. I remember the widespread disgust when prices reached 50p
Indeed, last time the fuel protest happened as the result of widespread disgust that fuel had topped 80p / llitre. Today, any garage selling petrol below 90p (incidentally, there would still a couple of 89.9s around last week in my neck of the woods) would be queued up for miles as people seek to take advantage of such a bargain.
I was queuing to get to the pumps for 15 minutes! I was watching the pumps, and I didn't see any of the morons putting in less than £25. Some cars were filling the tanks to the brim. I put in a fivers worth (just over 5 litres) which should see me until Friday.
Consider however, that as panic buying takes off, it becomes less and less idiotic to follow the idiots to start it. I filled my tank up to the brim today when I would never normally put more than a tenner in. Why? Because if these protests succesfully disrupt supply, it may well be a week before I get to put any petrol in again. Sticking in a tenner to last me the next few days isn't going to be much good when those few days are up and there's no petrol left to replace it.

I'd also be pretty screwed if I suddenly find myself needing to make an unexpected long journey and don't have much petrol in the car - I won't be able to buy any after all.

The situation in my town is escalating - a couple of garages last night were sold out of unleaded and had no more deliveries, and now most garages in the town have no unleaded, and a few have no fuel at all. And only 1 garage that I know of is getting a delivery tomorrow, which isn't going to be 5 minutes as it quickly becomes the only garage left in the town with any fuel left.

Indeed, and how ridiculous of the police / oil companies to say there is no need to panic buy, when garages all over the place are running out of supplies and closing down, and those that are open have a mile long queue outside of them. If you want any supplies, you have no choice but to join the queues.

Good for the company I work for all this thou!!
5% extra commuters on Wilts and Dorset Buses expected today.
No ques in this neck of the woods this morning it seems maybe people are starting to see sense!
Then again given the fact that they are the great British public, this seems unlikely!
