I think this could be the end for TV Forum. It's looking like the whole database has finally decided to die, and I don't think Asa is going to want start the whole thing from scratch!

I predict the TV Forum forum will be handed over to Metropol, with Asa being granted moderating powers by Martin!

If that does happen... ADIOS AMIGOS!

lets hope so... tvf has been in terminal decline for some months and stopping new users from registering is unfathomable.

People have been saying that about TVF practically since it was launched.

yes, but there isn't anything fresh in there now, asa polices the place in such an anal way (threads being allowed to continue based on who started them) for a long time.

he's turned of new registrations to stop trolls, but look at metropol, no limitations, but no trolls. there is obviously something wrong with the way it is run.

Well I checked last night on the home pc and it was off and now I've just logged back on with my work computer and it still appears to be off.

Does anyone actaully know what this "Debug Mode" means? Things seem to have gone up shit creek since the "Event Chat" tests...Something to do with that?...

Oh and the sun does rise in the west doesn't it?

Serious issues I'm afraid kids - can't do a thing until Asa gets back. It should be a 5 minute job but only Asa can get in and sort things out.

in that case, users should be able to use this forum to post tv related threads?

mods?

I've no objection to that, DrL, but it's up to Martin.

He may be a bit wary about stepping on Asa's toes on this though - we kinda rely on that place for our traffic.

The "Debug Mode" you refer to is technical speak for something has gone up the shit creek, here is the error that is occuring; now go and sort it. As the word suggests, the debug (i.e. removing bugs) mode is to help developers locate the sources of problems with the system by displaying the error message on screen, usually to all and sundry.

I'd guess that there's something wrong with the database or one of its dependent files judging by the mesaage that's currently appearing.

I wonder, would it have been Asa's tinkering that would have trashed the database? Or is it a problem with the host like last time?
