I enjoy debating - the perils of excessive regulation is my speciality. You've got me at a good moment too - I'm in the middle of exams, so I'm eager to find interesting distractions. :)

I've just used the AA route planner and the difference in distance between Chester (where Lucy Meacock is from) and London and Cardiff and London is not that great. It works out at about an additional 40 miles for Lucy Meacock to get to London than Lucy Owen. That's much less than an hour in transport terms.
