I know I don't usually involve myself in political moderating, BUT, as Luxton is not a member of metropol, surely discussing him behind his back about him sniping about Gavin behind his back makes us just as bad as him?

"Talented"? Well I'm sorry but he wasn't even a C-lister. The story is interesting from a human behaviour and psychology point of view, but apart from that he might as well have been an ordinary person as far as most people are concerned.

Meh, knew I'd fall foul sooner or later but I have been made an unperson forum-wide. Wish I could say it was fully my doing but no, it wasn't and I think it's great nobody could even be bothered to explain why or for how long. Can't really get in contact with anyone because, surprise, there's no ability to get contact details making me a fucking pariah.

May the Fourth Reich continue on their assault of well-thinking people and the beloved dictators show malice and contempt towards the members with more than two brain cells to rub together.

In theory, yes.

In practice, I don't care.

Luxton's comment was written as if he was an indoctrined Daily Mail journalist; regardless of the emotions involved of the situation, never mind the fact that the body is yet to be officially identified as that of Mark Speight (or at least at the time), he, in an arrogantly and unsubtle way, used the death of an individual as a points-scoring exercise against what he thinks is "the enemy". I believe it is not only offensive and insensitive to Gavin, but also to Mark Speight's family and friends, and the families and friends of anyone who has lost their lives through drug misuse, depression or mental health problems (the latter of which is where I took offence - but that's another story).

I don't know what Gavin may have said or inferred previously to provoke Luxton's comment, I don't tend to follow many of the threads on TVF except those I have an interest in, but there seemed to me to be little basis for Luxton making as provocative a remark as he did; in my eyes, it just seemed wrong.

Simon Luxton is entitled to express his views and opinions where he likes, and I won't stop him or attempt to censor him, but if I read something he has posted about someone I believe to be of good character and could influence other people's opinion of the same person, I feel I have the right to express my opinion on that person, which I chose to do here.

I usually keep schtum about the politics of TV Forum etc., but this time, I felt Luxton went too far in posting a thread on Digital Spy (a rival to TVF) making a comment about a TVF regular, and of course, a Metropol mod, with intent and without reason or relevance, to cause offence. That's how I see it, anyway.

Ah, luxton. Nesting in his own filth, bordered by an inappropriately large number of Grange Hill videotapes, he has not seen the sun in so many years. Now and again he tries to emerge but is dazzled by the glare and noise of the real world. This pathetic man-child is now illuminated only by the cold glare of his computer screen and the static of countless televisions. His only company in this solitary life is the voice that comes at night, gently reassuring him that is the victim of an unjust crusade against family values, clean living and pure thoughts. I do. Nearly five years ago Laura Saddler, an actress on Holby City (who used to be in Grange Hill) fell out of her boyfriend's window and broke her head so badly she died a few days later. She'd taken some cocaine and got drunk prior to this.

Simon Luxton went on a little campaign to "kick the drugs out of showbiz" despite the fact this was happening in the privacy of their flat and was a case of misadventure, not some sort of direct drug related death like those needle in the arm types.

Gav in particular, pointed out to Luxton how ridiculous he was being and since then he has decided decided that Gav is the biggest supporter of drug taking in the world and has gone on this little campaign against him.

Nini and Sput have both been banned it appears.
