The difference is that before this year, the manifesto launches began on the day of the dissolution of parliament. Dissolution now happens automatically due to the passing of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, and much earlier than before. However it seems that the manifesto launches will continue to take place in the third week of April.

Are you trying to say you are not interested in how a government which promised to cut spending etc has managed to double overall debt? Have you not wondered where the money has actually gone? It clearly not going in just interest payments. The current government has spent a hell of alot of money on stuff, where has it gone? Its dam check to say labour left nothing in the cupboards. The Tories have had to taken out a 2nd mortgage. DEBT IS BAD THING. Im surprised were not gone to the IMF and do a 50 year repayment plan like we did with the USA in 1948?

Debt is always going to rise whilst there is a deficit between money coming in and money going out. Do you not understand this? The original aim of the government was to eliminate the deficit before the end of the term, which was pretty soon adjusted to happen over a few years extra. The forecasts all along said that the deficit would rise before it fell, and however long there is a deficit, there will be more debt added.

What I have a massive issue with is the idea of Wee Jimmie Crankie (© Jon Gaunt) potentially running the United Kingdom when seven months ago, she wanted to cut the rest of us adrift. It's not Cricket. Labour/SNP is just a scary, scary thought. I'd find Conservatives/SNP similarly unpalatable and they're so apart idealogically that surely the Conservatives would have to make massive compromises and huge subsidies to Scotland.

A Conservative/UKIP coalition seems the best outcome - Farage does have a few good ideas, and we'd get the referendum on Europe - but principally he'd have an established party to kind of "temper" him a bit.

I'm probably far more right wing than you could ever dream of being, sonny Rob, but I manage to put my views forward, when I wish to, without simply resorting to expletives.

Socialists may, in my personal view, be somewhat misguided, but that doesn't make them all what you described them as.
