Fifth? Oh, that's a strong cutback, like dropping from Waitrose right down to Aldi. I've not been posting there often anyway of recent times so maybe it might work.

if I'm not mistaken, beep chubby is on one of the little work experience type things for BBC Birmingham hence him being able to access some bits and bobs
Actually it's BBC Coventry and Warwickshire

you didn't think they'd let such a weirdo into a GOOD BBC outpost, did you? No, they've placated him with what is basically a joke assignment

Good lord, just received a completely random PM from Tumble Tower. He gets more absurd by the day! PM me if you wish to see it because I don't think this board has the stomach for it!

Ok, what's your address?

I jest, sir.
Hi Ronnie, here's a general update on life.

It's Easter again! Already, would you believe it? It doesn't seem long since Christmas, does it? Easter Sunday is so exceptionally early this year, it's almost as early as it can be: 23 March. The earliest possible date for it is 22 March. On the other hand, the latest it can be is 25 April. In 3 years time (2011) it will be one day before that, 24 April. Source Wikipedia.

How the date of Easter varies then. Don't you think it on a particular weekend? Obviously it can't be on a specific date e.g. 10 April (unlike Christmas Day 25 December), as Easter Sunday would then rarely be a Sunday (and hence Good Friday would rarely be a Friday). However they could arrange for Easter to always be on, say, the second weekend in April. Good Friday morning I turned happened to catch the BBC breakfast news part way through a news report about the varying date of Easter, with the claim that tying it to the date of the first full moon after 20 March is archaic. I wholeheartedly agree with that, and think that Easter should always be the second weekend in April.

The fact that Easter is so exceptionally early this year means we've had winter weather, snow in some parts of the UK and bitter cold winds elsewhere. What's the weather been like where you are? Have you had any snow? If so, how much have you had? Enough to have a snowball fight, build a snowman / snow Easter bunny, go sledging? If so, have you done any of those? If Easter was in April, maybe there'd be better weather. I've seen some photos on the BBC website of parts of the UK which have had a white Easter. Where I am today was mostly sunny, with a bitter cold wind. Where I was, where was just one short cloudy interval with a very brief (couple of minutes) snow flurry mid afternoon.

What are you up to this Easter? Eaten many hot cross buns? I had a fair few before this weekend. Yesterday I had one, and likewise today? Getting any chocolate eggs tomorrow? Did you go to church yesterday, and/or will you go tomorrow? I didn't go yesterday, and won't be going tomorrow. Will you be watching the Pope's Easter message "Urbi Et Orbi" on BBC One (B1)? Doubt if I'll be. Basically Urbi Et Orbi is to Easter Sunday is what the Queen's Speech is to Christmas Day. Do you agree with me or disagree with me on that statement?

Remember last summer when I posted the following two retro ITV regional ident jingles on Metropol?
Thames skyline: Gowng gowng geeng-er horng ut a norng

LWT river: Lin-ga lon-ga lin-ga lon-ga dadada-daa dum dadadada dum dum

You tried reading them aloud, and recorded it, then posted the recording on the web somewhere. I downloaded that and have listened to it umpteen times since. You said "Doesn't sound like a jingle to me". Well of course it didn't, you just read the "words" out one by one. Properly recited, they do sound more or less like the real jingles. You almost have to sing the sequence, but it does help if you already know what the real jingle sounds like.

Here's some more to try:

Anglia knight: Da da da da-da dada dada daaa
ATV "In Colour" lightspots: Pee wah wah bong-bong-bung tong ting tung sha-she-ahh
Central (1982 to mid 80s): Goi woi lon-ga la ting ting
HTV 1970s/80s "aerial": Wall-all-all newl-all-all wah wea-wah

I've looked at YouTube many a time. It brings back memories seein old ITV1 regional idents on there. I've even found old Woolworths Xmas idents from yesteryear on there: Xmas 1981 and Xmas 1983. Remember the really long ads Woolies used to show on ITV in those days in the run-up to Xmas? Bet those must have cost a fortune in airtime, especially ones which lasted two minutes, as opposed to the standard length of 30 seconds. Also on YouTube I've seen entries from past Eurovision Song Contests, e.g. 1981, 1983. It's great seeing songs again which I heard once and thought I'd never hear again.

To think that it's now nearly a year since I went to Llandudno for a holiday last March, I travelled from Bath to Llandudno Sunday 25 March last year, and returned home during the evening of Thursday 29 March. I stayed 4 nights in Llandudno and visited Rhyl and Prestatyn on the Monday, Conwy Castle on the Tuesday and Caernarfon Castle & Llanfair PG on the Wednesday. The final (Thursday 29 March) I went on the toboggan run at Llandudno Ski Centre, and for a coach tour of the Great Orme. Hasn't time flown since then!

Must go now. Happy Easter.

No. You only have to look up some of his posts on here to see that his PM is like a Mr. Men book compared to his other writings on here.

Well, I'm not certain if he's taking the piss or not but reckon he's probably not, poor sod. Anyway, what did you do to him to get that god-awful list of nothing?

Either he hates you and you probably should be wary or he really likes you and should be very afraid.
