Deary me, accusations of foul play by Apple regarding warranties on "water damaged iphones"

Why does this not surprise me?

I'm pretty sure most smartphones have those stickers inside, just a question of whether they trust them or not!

Ah, thank you for that warning!

One thing I found a bit irritating is when I tried to phone a mate who does some taxi-ing at the weekend and it wouldn't connect... I realised it was because the number started 44, but with no + in front of it. Wouldn't allow me to edit it - then I found that it was because he'd got the number wrong himself on Facebook and it had imported that number. I couldn't find a way to dial the number that I'd stored on the phone without "un-linking" his Facebook profile from the Google Contact.

I don't have a problem using my screen in the sun, have you set your brightness to "auto" mr sputty?

I had a similar problem with facebook contact numbers.

Someone (who I have now "unfriended" - as we weren't particularly good mates anyway) had, instead of putting a number in his face book profile, set it to "you ain't seen me".

ROFL I'm sure.

This has the side effect of making texts from services such as Vodafone and Dominos Pizza show up as having come from him.

I didn't have another contact number for him, so I couldn't unlink it - and for a couple of weeks I put up with this at a time where I got a lot of texts from Vodafone being a new customer.

So he's gone from my FB list, and the problem has rectified itself.

Also, I don't have a problem with my screen in daylight - and my settings are also set to "auto".

Anyone suggesting that NI or Scotland don't get sunshine like wot Engerland do will get a kick in their pie.

Of course you get sunshine, it's just inferior, in the same way that you need a bigger satellite dish for Sky ;)

As for contacts, getting mine off the Hero and putting them on the Desire took half a day and involved spreadsheets, GMail and rage. I still have issues with it dropping the 0 AND the 44 from one or two numbers (the rest are fine) and refusing to remember them when I put them back in.

I exported mine to a spreadsheet in CSV, imported about 490 numbers, and STILL find that when I go to call someone I don't have the number in my Desire.

Zuh?

Anyway, I'm retaining my little Nokia to add as required, but its a real pain in the noots.

I'm on 500MB on my Voda contract. Must remember to check my online billing and see how much I actually use. I only worry about it when I've used spotify (which, by the way, is *super awesome* on my phone).

I'm pretty sure I'm not even close to the limit - but if another 500MB as a bolt on is only a fiver I would go for that.

I have just figured out that I can look at my data on O2 by looking at previous bills - I don't tend to go over 200mb per month. I thought it would be loads more than that.
