OMG - BCC have tried to modernise!

Plain white, actually works wonders on the logo. And I spy they are now using Gotham on their adverts.

Whilst we're talking local councils, my council has an absolutely dire logo:

Yuck!

Staffordshire County Council has recently had a nice new logo though...

Supermarket chain Carrefour has changed the typeface of its logo to make it look less harsh for it's shoppers. In my opinion I think that the change of logo is good but it will take a long time for it to spread to all the different countries where Carrefour is situated.

Well if you governed a city as shite as Birmingham, would you waste time on pointless rebrands when there is so much else pressing to do?

Plus I suspect many people think it's iconic. It's certainly recognisable and simple enough to replicate.

Not technically High Street, but it would appear that Shell have canned the 'AquaValet Car Wash' brand...

...and replaced it with the wonderfully generic 'Shell Car Wash'.

No picture I'm afraid, but it looks kinda like this

Shell
Car Wash

in their Futura typeface of course.

But then, why call it anything else? AquaValet sounds silly really.

Cornwall County Council ....

Image

Merged to form Cornwall Council with the six districts to form a Unitary authority, they proposed this new logo

Image

Which was universally condemned in the County (amongst other things it was call Don King's wig, after the boxing promoter) So the new authority had a rethink and came up with

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Shame they don't put Konsel Kernow on it too.

Mind you, given that there are four versions of y Yeth Kernewek, that's a potential minefield.

I'm never sure when to use Dynnerch or .... agas Dyngarch.
