I really must direct everyone's attention to the thread entitled "Daljit" in the Newsroom bit. It makes great reading.

In particular, I would like to direct you to the Wikipedia biography inexplicably posted by "Supercool Dude". Either this bloke is an extremely bizarre individual or a fantastic comedian.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Supercool_Dude
He is disabled with Arthritis from taking the medication Accutane and spends lots of time with his two wild feral Mute Swans named Audrey and Cyrus. Audrey is now locally known in City Island for speaking like a Parrot.
In November 2001 he saw an ITN World News broadcast on WLIW TV Channel 21 and saw Kylie minogue sing "I Can't Get You Out Of My Head" at the European MTV Awards in Berlin, Germany and wrote to Jay Leno of The Tonight Show asking to have her on and she appeared on February 4th 2002... He is currently trying to get his favorite band called Swing Out Sister on the Tonight Show.
Everyone keeps asking Supercool Dude, how he got his screenname. One day in 1963, his father bought their family their very first Air Conditioner. That Summer it was very hot outside and he walked up to the huge A/C and turned the machine on super cool and he stood there cooling off and said out loud, "I am one super cool dude!".

...and if you follow the papertrail of links, you can read excerpts from his book. Here's my personal highlight:
was telling my Mother that it was illegal to have chickens or baby
chicks in NYC.

I told her that many European people give these chicks away as gifts
at Christmas and Easter.

My Mom admitted that she did it also.

I said "And who did you give baby chicks to?"

Mom said "To you!"

"You gave me baby chicks? I don't remember!" I was surprised.

"Yes, I gave you three newborn hatched chicks when you were two years
old and you played with them!" Mom said.

"What happened to them?" I asked.

"They died" she said.

"Why did they die?" I asked.

"You killed them!" Mom told me.

"You choked one to death and crushed another and broke the wings of
the 3rd and they all died, I'm afraid."

this is possibly the best thread in years.

Although I notice a random posting utter bollocks is allowed, but a member who has been there SINCE THE START is not allowed to say the word poo without getting a warning

Please tell me this "jugglan91" is some sort of spoof character. His latest mocks, which have quite obviously been done in the 3 minutes since he joined are of the standard of max's green and red north west mock.

Does anyone else feel that these (rather rubbish) newer and younger members are gradually taking over the forum? Many of the "old schoolers" seem to be becoming more and more disillusioned with the place, and it is becoming a haven for bad grammar and general shit. It seems to be spreading outwards from the mocks forum.

I don't like it. Not one bit.

This seems to be where all the cool kids hang out these days. And Hyma.

Just face it. We're getting old. This is a metaphor for life. We're are being put into an old people's home. WE ARE BEING PUT INTO A HOME.

I say we take a vote on a renaming of Metropol to the Grumpy Old Men (and of course Lorna) Forum.

Chat for the disillusioned.

You only have to look at tossers like pad behaving as if they know it all in the Michael Grade thread.

Still, Luxton is still coming up with the same old lines, so some things never change.
