Yes, I know it's awful and the wrong font and everything, but I spent about 2 minutes on it.

Seriously though, I don't think many of the deaths regularly mentioned on TVF are worthy of a thread. Like Nick Harvey said, it's far more important what people are like away from the media that is important.

With threads such as that, we'll get news every day of some nobody who's passed on, which wouldn't happen with separate threads.

Exactly.

Nobody is going to believe this, but I wrote the bulk of next Friday's Comment the weekend before last.

The title is "What a Lovely Dodo" and it was going to be, mainly, about precisely this issue, of false fawning after somebody's snuffed it.

In view of the fact that I've made most of my points this evening, prior to publication, I think a re-write of parts of it will be necessary before Thursday night.

So what we have now is a "death thread" with tvarksouthwest holding the capability to amend topic titles with news of the latest expiry as and when he feels it warrants attention, like some harbinger of gloom and doom.

I don't think I could carry the burden.

Reckon I could just about manage putting "Simon Luxton" in the sub-heading!

Exactly.
Sadly I didn't write it in fluent English though.

I think someone should start a fake obituary thread (like on TV Offal).

Damn fine idea.

But, over to somebody else.

I think I've done my bit for the evening.

I'd wait a few days.
I'm surprised no-one has picked up on the fact that News at Ten started at 22.01 tonight.
I'm not.

Oh dear! I see we now have the death of the death thread. Let's hope no one else dies today or they could be padlocked before rigamortis sets in!
