This area is in Corstorphine in my book, as is the PC World and McDonalds etc.Ant wrote:Officially being completed on Monday. It's looking rather lovely.
Never understood how 24 hour stores avoid this. Few years ago Argos trialled in a few of the larger stores 24 hour trading. Problem being that every night every store had to complete overnight polling - which rendered the entire store system inoperable - including reserving stock online or from other stores.scottishtv wrote:Also, do you know - some nights the tills need updating between 2300 and 2330? You can't buy anything. The store is open but you need to browse until the checkout re-opens. This has caught me out several times coming off a late shift at work hungry for my tea. Like I said, not a fan.
Likewise with the Tesco Home Plus in Netherfield, Nottingham.barcode wrote:Cumbernauld and alloa have the travelators, I believe prams and wheelchairs are still not allowed
I understand why Argos might have a problem with their mega integrated system, but there's no needs for supermarkets to do the same. At Sainsbury's, any till can act independently (based on the last update) of the server, and tills can also manually skip or be forced to update.m-in-m wrote:Never understood how 24 hour stores avoid this.
