Geez. I remember that ad. Looks like the weegies won this round. Over in the east, The Codfather is no more.

Fancy a greasy pizza instead?
Dominos aren't greasy.

Pizza Hut. Now that's greasy.

and make you feel bloated and nasty.

Dominos make you feel good inside. They are made with magic.

Fair point. I think my last Domino's pizza was particularly greasy and has put me off for a while, but overall much better than Pizza Hut. Domino's chicken strippers are amazing (although I don't think it's British meat) and they deliver fast - once in a record-breaking 13 minutes and I'm not that close to the store.

I ordered a Domino's with a friend the other day on-line. In fact, I think that that is perhaps my first on-line purchase (though it was on the friend's account)! I don't have a credit card or debit card. However I remembered reading a thread on here where people complained about the awful archaic operating system that Domino's use(d). Didn't a DOS-style computer deliver the order to the store or something? Surely they've changed that system by now? From a customer's view point, it was really good, however, because I didn't think I could do it on-line, but I was able to order it with no cheese (how I like it).

I hate to quote the daily mail (no capitals) - but its a very funny article for something that's a very good idea.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... akers.html

In a nutshell, research has found people usually put 4-5 shakes of salt on their chips no matter what. Reducing the number of holes on the shaker will therefore reduce the salt intake.
The best bit are the comments at the end—they are really architypal "awful nanny-State" mail opinions. I however think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

A Parmazan (very specific to Teeside - Middlesbrough Mainly) Very nice with Chilli and Peperoni.
A parmesan, otherwise knows as a parmo. Is a flattened piece of meat, whether it be chicken breast, pork, or in some cases beef; coated in a white starchy-like sauce; coated with cheese (often parmesan or chedder cheese)
Just thought I'd elaborate on the parmo since i had one for tea last night.

(i know this photo doesnt display my food as good as other ones taken on this thread)

Its a bit of a Teesside speciality explained quite well by nidave. The white sauce is bechamel sauce (more commonly seen in lasagne). There's different varieties of the parmo like the hotshot which is the one that dave's described but I prefer the original.

The main debate is which meat base is better for the dish (pork, obviously) and the arguement was featured on Inside Out one week in the north east. pretty slow week i think...

It's absolutely great although I'm feeling it this morning.
and 'woo!' for popping my lurking cherry

one thing that's always annoyed me about scottish chippies is they won't give you a bag of batter. I like nothing better than chrunching down on its salty goodness but can you get it up here? no. tsk.

I would beg to differ - Chicken is the best.

Think they are called Scraps in Manchester. You don't get that in NI and I don't see the appeal of them.

Dave is right. We weren't brought up to eat bags of "bits" round these parts. I've never heard of that and it sounds very wrong to me.
