YAY you're turning your expert knowledge to me! It's economy 7 and set up as such but it's the boost that appears to ignore me, unless it refuses to boost with the water cold.

I think I might enquire at my landlord, I can't seem to actually get to my immersion as its hidden behind a wooden door that won't open. I don't think thats right.

Doesn't sound right, it should allow you to boost at any time, I'd get someone to look at that.

And if you're economy 7 presumably you do all your washing and drying overnight...

I don't do no dryin' :) I do washing overnight now though. E-On were clever with their stated price rise of 12.5% - it's ACTUALLY 12.5% averaged over their various rates, so it's gone from 25 to 33p/kWh in the day for me (for the first 900, and I use little more than that really), and stayed at about 5p at night. I'm thinking about becoming nocturnal. I have actually moved my morning [electric] shower 15 minutes earlier so I catch the end of E7, because I'm being THAT tight and it takes me 20 minutes of hot water to the face to wake me up.

20 minute shower :o , that's rather excessive. I suspect a 2 minute cold shower would wake you up even quicker, and save you money if you're on a water meter!

See this page on uSwitch. Most new properties have them installed at the time of construction, but they certainly make a difference to your water bill if you live alone, like me.

don't wink at me.

i was referring to the fact that we don't have water bills due to it being part of council rates, and what with me being a student, being exempt, therefore not having to pay for water :)
