Hello, new user. Welcome.

Tumble has long since been removed from the board. He worked the last nerve of my button pusher, and had to go.

We have a fantastic lift in my new place of work - it's one of those with only a sliding grille as a door so you can see (and, if stupid enough, touch) outside the lift as you go up.

As it is mainly a cargo lift and not a human/passenger lift, it was designed with function in mind above all else, despite the fact you must be inside the lift to operate it, as it were. It therefore has a very jolty stop at every floor, and doesn't actually meet many of the floors it stops on - there's a 1-2 inch vertical gap. This can be very annoying when pushing a heavy trolley full of books.

The customer lifts are slightly more comfortable but a bit confusing - our building has galleries on Floor 2 and 4 which overlook the floors below, which means that pushing button 2 in the lift gets you, well, nowhere. This has led to consternation amongst customers (and merriment amongst staff) when waiting for the lift to see people constantly re-appearing on the ground floor having continually failed to get to the mythical Floor 2.

I should 'tsk' myself. I haven't even thought to check who built the lifts at my work yet. It'll be the first thing I do on Monday when I get in.

Hmm. You should probably check if there's someone trapped inside it.
