I quite like Jo Whiley actually, I was never too keen on her because I always found her to be a bit up herself, but I've started listening more and more to her show and she's really grown on me.

Was driving dahn south last Friday morning and managed to catch pretty much the whole of the Chris Moyles show - he's someone else who's really grown on me. I think it was 26 minutes until he played a song, they spent most of the show pissing around and singing karaoke with Justin Lee Collins of all people. It sounds crap but it was actually incredibly funny.

I think my only complaint about Radio 1 is that they think the listeners are obsessed with the same bands that they are. I can't stand Coldplay and I'm sick of hearing about them at the moment. Oh, I have another one actually - Nihal. He was asking people to text in the other week to say if they prefer Eastenders or Coronation Street. I mean, come on, hardly Radio 1 material is it?!

Anyone else agree that Newsbeat is on the whole very very good too?

Always a R1 chook me. I have just one or two issues. I <3 Moyles he should go back to the 4 - 7pm slot ( for my own selfish purposes). And the airwaves have been alot nicer since Sara Cox has been on maternitity. Any chance of putting her on permanent maternity leave?

I tolerate Jo Whiney only cos she has the best format. Scott rocks i'd put him in Ediths place.

I still lament the loss of Mark and Lard from my weekday afternoons (and prior to that, my mornings). Haven't really listened since then and still feel Moyles to be highly over-rated, like a latter day Steve Wright in the making.

I notice yesterday they switched from an 08700 number to an 03700 number. As their website says
"Phone: 03700 100 100 (0370 numbers are called 'UK Wide' and cost no more than calls to 01/02 geographic numbers) "

Being so similar, it'll take a while for the DJs and listeners to get used it!

Same here really. Mark and Lard used to brighten my afternoons up a lot. I recently found one of their albums they did as The Shirehorses in the bottom of a box of cassettes. I've never laughed so much in my life.

Which one was it? I found "The Worst Album In The World...ever...EVER!" a couple of weeks ago in the bottom of a similar box, and it's just fantastic :)

Bigeddy bigeddy bong!

Ah, that Friday evening they filled in for some rubbish dance DJ was radio comedy gold. No wonder the management hated them.
