Notice in tonights report on the ten it was only in London where they kept queuing to make sure they could buy their sundried tomatoes and shandy.

I presume that as a northerner you are claiming immunity from insulting your fellow Geordies.
Northern people are normally fairly careful with their savings, so this sort of scare doesn't encourage comfort despite assurances from the government. There are far more dis-trusting southerners withdrawing their money, in far larger quantities, I notice you didn't call them "thick" .
Yes, I'm claiming immunity; and I hope the entire populace of the north will forgive me for that. However that's been the stereotype that many have thought of, simply because of the name of the bank, Northern Rock.
Of course the southerners are thick too - but from looking down Northumberland St the other day the queues in Newcastle were bigger than anything I'd seen on TV.
