That's a myth I reckon - unless I am very much mistaken, a file upload control in browsers only gives access to the specified files (the server can't 'pull' files from your machine).

Unless you install a Firefox Plugin or IE ActiveX control, there’s not really much on the web that can harm you as the web ‘area’ is totally separate from the computer (even more so in Vista with Protected Mode)
