2 tea bags, no milk, 2 sugars in a mug (preferably with a handle) accompanied by a Hob Nob.

Oooh no no no. Has to be freshly drawn water for a good full-flavoured brew... although if you're going to ruin it with sugar I suppose it doesn't matter.

What really gets me though is when people put the teabag in the mug and then pour in the milk with the teabag before adding the water. It's just so wrong.

Milk last! At least then you have some control about what the final strength of the tea is going to be. If the milk goes in first, and you start pouring the water, but you're not happy with the end result, you can't take the milk out again!

Milk can go in first if you have already infused the tea in a pot of boiling water, but it shouldn't come into contact with a teabag because it inhibits the tea from infusing properly, I'm told.

Never use boiling water on coffee, instant or otherwise. It scorches the bean. That's something else I was told.

I have a large red Nescafe mug in the office. It's my most favourite of all mugs. One and a half or two heaped teaspoons of Nescafe instant, milk and three sugars. Yes three.

I only have two of those a day. One when I arrive (before I can speak), and the other about 30 minutes later when I'm almost alive enough to enjoy it. Its diet coke thereafter.

I now have to bring my own Nescafe because the company is committed to only purchasing fair-trade products and the coffee is honking.

Exactly my recipe till about six years ago.

Still the same now, except it's three silly sweetner pellets instead of the proper sugar.

I don't think a kettle stays boiling long enough to kill all the microbes.

Don't they "peg out" quickly though compared to a regular boiler?

Regarding tea, I take mine fairly milky with no sugars, it just leaves a horrible aftertaste with the sugars IMHO
