"Users of the Yahoo and Microsoft instant messaging programs can now contact each other directly.
The two firms have released software that ties the two networks into a huge community of 350 million users"
Now I've noticed this page
http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_msn ... J0ZcxwMMIF
at Yahoo, however Windowsw Live is still listing it as coming soon.
Anyone managed to get anything working yet?

Well, I'm now on Yahoo 8 which ought to work between the two.
PM me your address on Bill Gates' system and I'll give it a try.

Go to
http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_msn.php
Click the "Join the Beta" link
Enter your Yahoo username and password
Now you'll be able to add MSN users to your Yahoo account.

and apparently I must click "try it" on
http://ideas.live.com/programPage.aspx? ... 5ee3e858fe
which is essentially another sign up beta like Windows Live Messenger was until last month. It could have been a bit more obvious mind.

nothing as of yet.
I logged out and back in and it ordered me to upgrade. Maybe that has something to do with it. Try again.
While I'm waiting, I'll see if the other place is still broken
