The diesel has crept back down to 99.9p round this way in the last couple of days. Don't know if that is as a result of the blockade threats.

I managed to pick up a tankfull of unleaded at Sainsbury's at 94.9p on Thursday evening, less my 1% for Nectar points made it a tiny twinge under 94p.

The average non-supermarket unleaded is 97.9p or 98.9p in this neck of the woods.

Well in this part of the UK in the last few days, unleaded rose a penny at BP to 97.9p where as diesel remained the same for the last week or so across all the stations (supermarket included) at 99.9p. The cheapest petrol here is 95.9p at Morrisons and that concludes Petrolwatch

The petrol here is now actually about 1p cheaper than it was earlier this week.

I get the feeling these protests arn't going to capture the public's imagination as much as in 2000. Most pundits are saying that we are unlikely to see scenes anywhere near the disruption seen 5 years ago.

I'm baffled as to why BBC News are reporting, at this moment in time, that there is "no panic buying" of fuel taking place, when there clearly IS.

There are no signs of motorists panic-buying at petrol pumps ahead of planned refinery blockades, fuel retailers have told BBC News. Mark Bradshaw, head of Garagewatch, which represents 6,500 independent retailers in the UK, said forecourts had been "quite quiet". Petrol Retailers Association director Ray Holloway also said there was no panic-buying or shortage of fuel.

All the garages in my area have long queues snaking about half a mile down the road. This is being reflected by Sky and ITN who are reporting it the way it really is. It all smacks of state-controlled propaganda by the BBC. They're trying to tell us that black is white and that white is black. Perhaps this is part of the government's contingency plan to deal with another petrol crisis; put out a false story about there being no crisis, and then people won't think there is a crisis.

Prices round here when i last filled up was 97.9 for super unleaded. That was on Friday. Not sure if they're panic buying in my area as i won't need to fill up again for a few days. I've got the day off on wednesday so i'll give the protesters my support from the comfort of my armchair.

I've been chatting about this with a few of my customers and i'm surprised how many didn't know anything about the proposed protests ( they obviously don't visit metropol, first for breaking news hehe). I think they were going to go to the pumps after they'd had their haircut.

The ignorance and arrogance of some manifested itself today on the forecourt of the supermarket where I work: a woman demanding firstly to know why we were so busy and secondly to jump the queue to the pumps.

Yes, it really does say 38.9p for unleaded and 37.8p for diesel. I think the 41.6p is for the old 4 star. I think this pic dates from around 1992, because prices were about 5p more when I started driving in 1993. I remember the widespread disgust when prices reached 50p.

I bet today's average salaries are not 250% of what they were 13 years ago (unless you're an MP), but the petrol bloody well is.

I finished work at 4pm today, and I had to nip up to Pontypridd (about 20 miles) to get my TV from my old house. I stopped at the Esso petrol station at J32 on the M4 to fill up and get a bite to eat.

I was queuing to get to the pumps for 15 minutes! I was watching the pumps, and I didn't see any of the morons putting in less than £25. Some cars were filling the tanks to the brim. I put in a fivers worth (just over 5 litres) which should see me until Friday.

I went into the shop and I said to the woman "Are you always this busy?"

"At this time of day, yes, but it's been like this since 10 o clock this morning - it's madness." She replied.

And the BBC News government propaganda is disgraceful. So much for independent news broadcasting.

Well whilst I would agree that the reaction is unnecessary and the propaganda unacceptable, you have to understand that a lot of people have jobs to protect.

I would love 5 litres to last me till Friday, however unfortunately I don't think I'd make it to work and back today on that.

The joys of living in the city where buses are plentiful and I live opposites Asda in the bay. How fab!

I hardly use my car to be honest. I might even sell it!
