Well you've heard me on mdta's answerphone (courtesy of Jamez of course!) but just in case you feel that you didn't get enough

Apologies for the rather large size - it was the best clip I could find of me talking in my posh voice.

'Fraid so.

I wish to make it one hundred percent clear that I just read scripts, I don't write them!

Absolutely NO chance!
But Nick... :( ...you can't pull a better deal.

If you're good, you MIGHT get that one sometime tomorrow; but it's on ten-and-a-half-inch reel-to-reel, so I'll have to go and find it, then copy it to mp3, so don't hold your breath.

Oh you're fab. You accent lends itself to being easy on the ear and you have lovely inflection.

I'd like another shot at it. I know I could do better.

 Shucks.

Thank you for the kind comments. Maybe I'll make a newsreader yet, then I'll be like Winifred for sure.

I still like your style though Gavin - could I pay you to read BBC News Online to me? I'm not sure if that's some kind of newsreading prostitution.

Oh really? Did you like it? [/Joan Crawford in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane]

I'd read for you. No charge.

The lady at the BBC News Tour took said she thought I was good and took me off to meet someone from BBC Scotland. She didn't hang around to do the introduction (as she had to attend to the next volunteer) and I'm afraid I bottled it and didn't sell myself, as it were.

Oh well. Another chance lost...

What a massive shame this thread wasn't about two days ago. I can't show you all what I sound like. Damn and blast.

Sorry, damned if I can find any "better deals" at the moment.

Seeing as you seem to find the jingles far better than my tag lines, how about this instead?

Love that jingle, Nick! :)

But I don't have a clue what Polar are trying to sell me! You'd think if they are going to shell out a few hundred quid on producing a forty-second radio ad, that they'd want to explain a little more about what on earth it is they are trying to sell me!
